Classes_-_Bowman

1. How are Bowmen?
Bowman aren't that easy, they lack an area hitting skill, so a mob on the same level owns them. They HAVE to snipe anything that's in a mob, because they can't pin a whole mob. You may counter by saying "There are plenty of spaces to snipe, and you won't get hit, so you don't use pots." Wrong, most decent sniping points are on a spawn ledge, and there will always be times when you're passing through and something spawns on you, or something is RIGHT in front of a rope.

2. Will bowmen take a lot of damage then?
So there will be times a bowman gets hit. So they may not use as many pots as a warrior, but at the same time warriors don't spend 1000 on arrows for 20% of their exp. That adds up to 5k per level. If anyone has it easy its mages, they can attack mobs on the same level because they can kill them in 1-2 hits and move onto the next monster.

3. in your opinion, which is better, arrow blow or double shot?
For double shot you shot two. So you will get more average damages which are so important for training.

For arrow shot, damage diffrence btw max and min will be greater than double shot but you may knock mosters back more easily and in earlier level.(Normally, you have to inflict more than certain damage to knock back the target. eg. Stone Golem=1000 So for arrow shot you need 1000, for double shot you need 2000 which are 1000 each.) knocking back is important and average damages are also important.

4. Do I need to get arrow blow or double shot? I was planning on maxing critical shot and focus for the higher avoidability? Is it really neccessary to get one of those?
You do not need to get both double shot and arrow blast but you have to get one of that.
You will be using one of them instead of normal attack until you learn a better skill in 3rd job.

5. Is there a significant difference between the damages of Iron Arrow (Crossbow man) and the Arrow Bomb (Hunter)??? cuz by the look of it the arrow bomb seems to be a lot better because there's a chance it can stun the mobs... so I'm wondering if the Iron Arrow's damage makes up for this...
I do not know much about bowmen but I can tell you the description at 30 levels.

Arrow Bomb: 130% damage 60% chance of stun.
Iron Arrow: 180% damage.

Anyway, so you will not get stun effect but you will get more powerful attack power. That is the difference.

6. So i should stop pumping up luck, what does it do anyway, increase accuracy and min damage? also should i add 1 to STR and 4 to DEX for every level up?
For bowmen, Dex increases the same thing, or maybe more stats, as Luck does but in more extend. Why bother luck? Well, you are right. However you will want to put Str just before you wear the equipment. ie. 5 Dex, 5 Dex, 5 Dex ,5 Dex and then 5 Str rather than 4:1 all the time.

7. i heard that for archers, arrow blow works better with crossbow, while double shot works better with bows, is this true?
I heard that arrow blow works better with crossbow and double shot works better with bows and ppl raise skills as such. However I do not know why.

8. Final Attack: Bow, does it include normal attacks, or only when I use Arrow Bomb and Double Shot?
Final Attack: when you use skills. However, I am so sure that you will use double shot, or arrow blast, all the time instead of using normal attack. So, it is still good.

9. Is there any advantage of using Cross Bow over Bow? I know its supposed to be strength but I dont see much of a difference(only 3-4 points of strength)
The attack specified in Cross Bow is higher than Bow.
You may not think attack is that important.
By incresing one attack at low level, it will increase zero or one real attack in stat. However, at high level, it can increase 10, 20 or more as your level gets higher!

10. Do bronze arrows having any diff affect or increase in power for your archer?Since most ore cost 1k it will cost atleast 10k to make a bunch.....
Bonze arrows have itself attackpower of 1 or 2, which I cannot remember, unlike normal arrows. It is really worth to have +1 or +2 attack power for 10k at later level, say above 70, but not now.

11. As a Hunter, should I spend points in power knockback? Is it worth it? Helena seems to think it's the best skill ever.
I guess it is not the best. Final or Mastery are the skills you have to learn first. You will gradually max it though since it is quite useful.

12. Can you please tell me what the following Sniper (3rd Bowman job) skills do?Thrust,Mortal Blow,Puppet,Golden Eagle,Arrow Eruption,Strafe.
-Thrust: Increase your movement speed. Passive skill.
-Mortal Blow: Certain percentage of chance to shoot close target for certain percentage of attack power with certain percentage of chance to instantly kill the target with less than half of its Max HP.
-Puppet: Summons a puppet which will be hit instead of you for certain period.
-Golden Eagle: Summons a golden eagale which will fight with you for certain period.
-Arrow Eruption: Shoot arrows towards the ground which then comes out from the ground to hit up to 6 targets around you.
-Strafe: Hit target with certain percentage of attackpower for 4 times on a single target. Your main attack skill in 3rd job.

13. oh ya i got 16pt into mastery and 15 in bomb. wat should i do next? is final atk any gd? thx
You should get Mastery to 19, and Bomb maxed. Final Attack is a must skill, you'll love it.

14. do skills like critical shot, final attack (ie. skills based on chance) affect the base damage (in example ii above, it'd be 100), or the final damage (in example ii above, it'd be 160, or 30)?
Critical shots and final attack are both multiplier. You get damage by multiplying them to base damage then minus the deffence factor.

15. i'm debating arrow blow vs. double shot (and/or bolt vs. claw) and here's what we come up with:

i) against enemies with little or no defense, double shot is better.let's assume the worst case scenario. on your first chance, you did 1 damage (your min), and on your second chance, you do 100 damage (your max).

Arrow blow maxed (14 mp):
1 damage x 260% = 2.6 damage = 2 damage
Double Shot maxed (16mp):
1 x 130% + 100 x 130% = 131.3 damage = 131 damage

what are the chances of you doing poor damage two times in a row?

ii) Enemies with defense, however, are a different story
>An enemy with 100 defense:
>260% Arrow Blow will do 160 damage.
>130% Double Shot will do 30 damage and 30 damage.
Arrow blow maxed (14 mp):
100x260% = 260 -100 = 160
Double Shot maxed (16mp):
(100x130%) = 130 - 100 = 30
(100x130%) = 130 - 100 = 30

Arrow Blow is obviously more powerful than Double Shot since the diffence factor affect less.ie. once compared to twice in Double Shot.

Say, your base damage was 1000. For the fairness, say, you always hit with base damage of 1000 and all without Critical Shot or you may assume all with Critical Shot. Also say defence factor reduce 100. (It was known that if a monster's D is 200, it reduces 100 damage.)

Arrow Blow: 1000 * 260% - 100 = 2500
Double Shot: (500 * 260% - 100) = 1200 * 2 = 2400
Dark Golem knocks back when it got 1500+ damage.
So, only Arrow Blow will knock Dark Golem back.

However, stable damage is also important. Critical Shot has 40% chance to attack at 200% at max level.
Now take that into account.
Arrow Blow with C.S.
1000 * 260% * 200% - 100 = 5100 (40% chance)
Arrow Blow without C.S.
1000 * 260% - 100 = 2500 (60% chance)
Double Shot with 2 C.S.
(500 * 260% * 200% - 100) * 2 = 5000 (16% chance)
Double Shot with 1 C.S.
(500 * 260% * 200% - 100) + (500 * 260% - 100) = 3700 (48% chance)
Double Shot without C.S.
(500 * 260% - 100) * 2 = 2400 (36% chance)
Say, you are hunting a monster with 3500 HP.
You will have 40% of one-kill and 60% of two-kill for Arrow Blow.
You will have 64% of one-kill and 36% of two-kill for Double Shot.
In this damage range, with double shot, you can train efficiently with double shot by finding monsters with HP around 3500.
